| Erfahrungen, Tipps, Hinweise | A birthday can be celebrated with this material in many ways. For example, the birthday child can start by giving one candle per year to a class mate. This child then circles the complete cycle starting at January. When he/she reaches December, the candle can be lit and placed on the sun in the middle of the cycle. The material can be expanded by adding different information from our, and other, cultures, such as zodiac signs, Celtic astrology, etc. The Year Chain is a material that can be used effectively with the ‘Year Cycle Floor’. It consists of a chain of pearls, one for every day of the year. Each month is a different colour. The pearls are laid out in a circle, e.g. around the floor cycle (which should fit nicely inside). As with all activities using chains, the units of time can be counted and labelled. The chain comes with arrows, with which events during the year can be marked with either pictures or words.
