| Arbeitsweise | The children work through the material card by card, laying the beads then adding them together. Laying the number cards only, or writing down the numbers and calculations is the next step up. There are templates which the children can fill in with their own calculations |

| Erfahrungen, Tipps, Hinweise | The Bead Material is very familiar to Montessori children. With such material, large numbers (in the thousands) normally cause no problems at all. Even though children aged between 5-8 years are not usually presented with numbers up to 9999, the teacher should not hesitate to use such large numbers in connection with the material. This material is introduced relatively early to 5 and 6 year olds, and serves as a preparation for the ‘Stamp Game’material. This material is intentionally restricted to the presentation of numbers and addition, but it is suitable for other calculations |
